Yesterday at the Louisville Central Community Center, NCFL and Half Price Books celebrated the 11th Annual Half Pint Library book giveaway. And what a success! More than 3,000 books were donated to Louisville readers as part of Community Service Day. Children from area programs were invited to take free books home to help build their own libraries. “I have been to the book give away a couple of times and wanted to let you know how much we at the YMCA appreciate it. We have over 60 school-age child care sites in Jefferson County alone. The books that you have given out have reached hundreds of children in our programs. Thank you again for a wonderful job and the promotion of literacy that you do.”
